Terms of use & refunds
Last updated: 7 October 2026
These terms apply to the EDEL PDF app and to licences bought for it. In short: try it free for 30 days, then pay €10 a year or €30 once, and get a full refund on a lifetime licence within 7 days if it's not for you.
1. Who provides EDEL PDF
EDEL PDF is provided by EDEL Group (EDELGRP), Switzerland ("we"). Contact: [email protected]. Licences are sold by our reseller and merchant of record, Lemon Squeezy, which processes payments, collects VAT and issues licence keys.
2. Free trial
Every new computer can use all features free for 30 days from the first time the app is opened. After the trial, without a licence, EDEL PDF keeps working as a reader: you can still open, search, copy and print your PDFs. Editing needs a licence. Your files are never locked.
3. Licences and prices
- Yearly: €10 per year, renewed automatically each year until you cancel. You can cancel at any time; the licence then stays active until the end of the year already paid.
- Lifetime: €30, paid once, for use without time limit, including updates.
- Prices may include VAT depending on your country; the final price is shown at checkout. Prices you have already paid never change.
- A licence is for one person and works on all of that person's computers (Windows and Mac). You can remove it from a computer yourself, in the app's licence settings.
- Every feature is included in every licence. There are no ads and no paid add-ons.
4. Refunds
- Lifetime licence: full refund within 7 days of purchase, no questions asked. After a refund, a lifetime licence can't be bought again for 12 months.
- Yearly licence: you can cancel at any time to stop the next renewal. If you were charged by mistake or the app doesn't work on your computer, write to us within 14 days of the charge and we'll refund it.
- To ask for a refund, write to [email protected] with your order email, or use the link in your Lemon Squeezy receipt. Refunds are paid back to the original payment method.
- Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under mandatory consumer law in your country.
5. Free months for your ideas
If we build a suggestion you sent us into EDEL PDF, we give you 6 additional months of use for free. Whether and when a suggestion is built is our decision.
6. Using the app responsibly
- You are responsible for having the right to edit, sign or convert the documents you open in EDEL PDF.
- You may not resell or rent your licence key, or try to bypass the trial or licence checks.
- The app's source code is not public. Companies may request access for a security review at [email protected]. Open-source components included in the app remain under their own licences, listed in the app.
7. Conversion and text recognition
PDF to Word conversion and text recognition (OCR) are automatic and can contain mistakes, especially in complex layouts or poor scans. Check important documents before relying on them.
8. Liability
EDEL PDF is provided as it is. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damage, lost data or lost profits, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for your licence in the last 12 months. Keep a copy of documents that matter to you before editing them. Nothing here limits liability for intent or gross negligence.
9. Changes and law
We may update these terms; the version on this page applies. These terms are governed by Swiss law. Mandatory consumer protection rules of your country of residence remain applicable.
